Safe Workplace
Safe Workplace
In accordance with our sustainability policy, we put people at the center and give the health and safety of our employees the utmost importance. We aim to create a safe working culture within the organization by organizing various activities, especially training.
We first offer 16 hours of mandatory essential workplace health and safety training to make our employees aware of workplace health and safety. In addition to this training prepared within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, we also offer training content in the fields of work permit, OHS practices in maritime affairs, process safety, working at height, and first aid. In addition, we organize on-the-job (toolbox) training on many subjects ranging from carbon footprint reduction to wastewater management and support the development of our employees with OED (Automatic External Defibrillator) certified training.
We also provide training on various subjects, primarily hazard analysis and risk management, to the officers working in our contractor companies. In addition, we issue health, safety, and traffic signs in all our factories and ensure the safety of our personnel while driving with the vehicle tracking system.
A Healthy and Safe Working Environment
With OHS-E videos broadcast on corporate TV, materials such as OHS-E Bulletin, 5-sensory events, award-winning competitions, preparation of OHS-E boards, Behavior-Oriented Occupational Safety studies, emergency level 1, and 2 drill plans in factories, PFI (Process Field Inspection) field audits, and MOC studies, we increase our employees' awareness of safety.
Protecting the health and safety of our employees is a top priority. We regularly conduct microbiological and chemical analyzes of potable water. We perform 3rd party Food Safety and Hygiene Inspections quarterly in all dining halls in our field. In factory and maintenance management, we organize monthly committee meetings where OHS issues are discussed, and we produce solutions by proactively evaluating the dangers and risks in the workplace.
Process Safety
We emphasize our operation’s safety and the environment's health so that our plants can function without interruption. In our business processes, we refer to the "SAFE Management Approach" created by SOCAR Türkiye by bringing together the best OHS-E practices worldwide. Within this approach, we strive to assess our work's compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, register it, and integrate it with other management systems.
We go beyond statutory occupational safety requirements and focus on high-tech OSH projects. Some of these projects are as follows: Modernizing the piers, using the inspection robot for periodic maintenance, establishing the control and procedures of the ESD systems, performing their functions and maintenance according to this procedure, carrying out the double and triple shift systems, applying the standard radio procedure in the facility with the appropriate infrastructure.
The Process Safety Management System ensures efficient and continuous operations. Our PSM approach includes good design principles, engineering, maintenance, and operating practices, and the management of proactive measures to ensure the integrity of the business and prevent the release of hazardous materials and the prevention and control of events with the potential to release dangerous materials or energy. Thus, we aim to take maximum precautions against possible toxic effects, fire, explosion, environmental damage, serious injuries, and loss of life.
Among the most important topics within the scope of Process Safety are Hazard Identification (HAZID, Hazard Identification), Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) & Protection Layers Analysis (LOPA), and Process Safety Management of Change System (MOC) studies. While a comprehensive risk assessment process is carried out with HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA studies provide direction for the projects to be developed within the scope of integration. On the other hand, the MOC process plays a role in managing the changes and risks that occur in our fields, together with the integration
